Arranging the funeral music and Stationary for the service

Funeral Music and Stationary

For many, music is an integral part of the funeral service. Music is often chosen by close family and friends and more commonly now, specified by the deceased. It can take the form of hymns and religious music such as Morning has Broken, Amazing Grace or Jerusalem or more humorous selections associated with the deceased. This can take the form of prerecorded music, such as the ever popular My Way, Danny Boy or Angels. Other examples can reflect the diseased hobbies and interests such a common theme tune, Match of the Day or even the Star Wars theme. Another alternative is to consider live music such the organ, bagpipes or violin.

It is advised that your choice of music be shared with the person leading the proceedings. In many instances, ministers will only allow hymns and traditional music in churches. Restrictions may also apply to crematoriums. The Directors at Arlington Funeral Services will be able to give advice.

The order of service

The Order of Service is an extension of the funeral and offers another opportunity for creating a unique memory of the deceased. This can also be based on the deceased hobbies, job and interests. Photos, messages  and poems can be included to provide a fitting memorial. Many people attending the funeral choose to keep this or send it on to fiends and family unable to attend the service.

Arlington Funeral Services works with a local printing company in Stoke-on-Trent who will be able to guide you on the design and layout from a wide range of funeral stationary, including:

  • Order of Service Sheets
  • Attendance Cards
  • Memorial Cards
  • Bookmarks

Remember Remember me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land; When you can go no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you planned: Only remember me; you understand It will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not grieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad.
